We are a small family only celebrating our second Christmas together, so we have few decorations. Last year the major expenses were spent on our tree. I also received a few decorations from my mom and mother-in-law. This Christmas I went to Target and bought a few more decorations, all under five dollars.
A little mistletoe at the front door always guarantees a kiss! I bought the mistletoe for five dollars and the hook from two dollars at Target.
In the bathroom I have a snowman hand towel sent by my MIL.
In the kitchen are matching snowman potholders and oven mitt from my MIL.
Christmas cow kitchen towels from my MIL
On the refrigerator is an advent calendar I picked up free from church.
On the back sliding glass door are ironic snowflakes from Target for two dollars. Owen loves these.
Our 3 foot, pre-lit Christmas tree was bought last year for twenty five dollars from Target. Last year I also bought a silver star tree topper, a three pack of snowflakes for three dollars, a sparkly red tree sham, and three ornaments for three dollars each: a Russian doll for me, a gingerbread man for Clifton, and a blue monkey for Owen. This year Owen picked out a new three dollar ornament for the new baby, a white dove with a red tobagan. I also bought Owen a child's Santa Claus hat from Walmart for five dollars. Underneath the tree are my newspaper wrapped presents, because ain't nobody got time fo dat.
UPDATE:
My mom sent us a care package through my dad of Christmas presents and nativities. Here are pictures of our newly gifted Christmas tree and a nativity sitting safely on the kitchen counter.
How do you like the decorations? How are you decorating your house for the season?
Are you making any of your decor? I love DIY projects, but I am lacking motivation this year.
