Homemaker Monday

Last week was my first week of waitressing and the boys' first week of daycare (both of which went fantastically), so I am hoping that this week we can get started into some routines. Let me tell you what I have in mind.

I start the week off with Happy Homemaker Monday, which is a blogger connection hosted by Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. Since homemaking is my day job, it makes sense to have a regular update in which I discuss all things homely.

The Weather:
Low 90s with no rain all week. The heat is unbearable.

Right Now I Am:
Sitting on the couch, working on my blog posts for the week.

Thinking:
About what to write for my blog post later on this week about how I am making things easier for myself as I transition into part-time working mom.

On My Reading Pile:
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed by Sean Williams

On My TV:
 Breaking Bad

Favorite Blog Post:
This post about toddler Halloween crafts really got me excited. I wonder if Owen can attempt any of them. He's getting pretty good with the scissors and crayons.

Something Fun to Share:
This week, Wyatt has really developed his ability to recognize faces. When he recognizes your face, he smiles so big that you would think his face would explode! There is no better welcome after a day of work or thank you for a big bottle of milk or new diaper.

On the Menu For This Week:
- Mushroom Spinach Calzones
- Pizza
- Greek Marinated Chicken and Caesar Salad
- Mushroom Cream Pasta
- Pulled Pork and Mashed Potatoes
- Lamb and Rice Stew
- Cabbage Rolls

On My To-Do List:
 - fix pillow
 - work on Episcopalian idea
 - finish Star Wars book

In the Craft Basket:
I am currently working on an idea to create a weblisting of all Episcopalian bloggers out there. So far, I have made a blog badge for it and am looking for Episcopalian bloggers to potentially e-mail. I also need to work out the technical aspects of it. If you are an Episcopalian blogger who would be interested in this idea, please let me know!

Homemaking Tip:
Have everything in one place for meal planning. I used to have everything I needed in multiple places, but that is an awful idea! Putting it in one place for this week made meal planning so much quicker and easier.

Looking Forward to This Week:
I have a doctor's appointment Tuesday that will guarantee no pregnancies for the next five years. With no deductible. So, yep, definitely looking forward to that.

Looking Around the House:
Wyatt is swinging in his swing, almost asleep, with a bottle of milk beside him, a burp cloth hanging in front of him, and a blanket on the floor that he has kicked off. I have a couch pillow beside me that I have trying to figure out how to fix after receiving a large hole from the dryer. Clifton is trying to convince Owen is go to sleep in our bedroom as it is getting rather late and he is very tired. I'm tired, too.

From the Camera:

I hate bath time!

On My Prayer List:
This week, I am praying for the mess in Syria, hoping that the best decision is made in that crisis.

Daily Bible Verse:
25 Now great multitudes accompanied him; and he turned and said to them, 26 "If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, `This man began to build, and was not able to finish.' 31 Or what king, going to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy and asks terms of peace. 33 So therefore, whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:25-33
